Google Maps

LOADING BAR
When Google Maps got bumped off iOS as the default navigation app in 2012, iPhone users everywhere suddenly found themselves lost and frustrated. So when the new Google Maps app was ready to launch, we decided the best way to answer their anticipation was to build on it. As the last hurdle between downloaders and their beloved maps, the little blue loading bar became a simple yet powerful way to re-introduce Google Maps to the world.

The new desktop version of Google Maps was more immersive and intuitive than ever. The best way to get acquainted? Dive in.

We took viewers head-first into the new interface and sent them on an immersive adventure through one of the world's most vibrant cities. The film was done almost entirely using the actual Google Maps UI and required hundreds of hours of meticulous attention to detail, all while the interface itself was in a constant state of evolution well into production.
